Seat Toledo – tilaihme

Hei.

Mutta mitä me sitten olimme mieltä Toledosta?

Side_small

Toledon muodot ovat suhteellisen linjakkaat. Ainoastaan etupää on hieman yksinkertaisempi Seatin muiden mallien mukaan. Takalasin linja laskeutuu todella loivasti.

DCIM100GOPRO

Takapään muotoilu on oikein onnistunut.

Takaluukku aukaistaan totuttuun tapaan (Miitä lukuunottamatta) Seatin logosta.

Ylläoleva kuva oli pakko ottaa artikkeliin mukaan ihan vaan kysyäkseni, miltä auto teidän mielestänne näyttää? Jollen paremmin tietäisi, voisin tästä kuvasta luulla sitä jopa Audi A4:ksi.

Engine_small

Koeajamamme yksilön voimanlähteenä toimi Volkswagenin 1.2 litran TSI moottori, josta on otettu irti 105 hevosvoimaa.

Style varusteisessa Toledossa on 16″ kevytmetallivanteet.

Ohjaamo_small

Ohjaamo on aika pelkistetty vaikkakin kaikki tarpeellinen löytyy. Vaihteisto on niinkuin Seateissa yleensä. Vaihdekeppi on pyöreä ja nupin sivuille on tehty pienet lovet sormia varten. Vaihteet menevät päälle täsmällisesti, ainoastaan kylmänä joutuu hetken odottelemaan ennenkuin vaihde loksahtaa paikoilleen.

Ratin puolissa on nappeja molemmin puolin.

RearSeats_small

Takapenkkiläisille on Seat Toledossa suotu myöskin runsaat tilat. Jalkatilaa on erittäin paljon verrattuna moneen muuhun autoon. Sisään käynti oli myös helppoa.

Plussat:

– Todella tilava auto sekä matkustajille että tavaroille

– Tehokkaan oloinen

– Vakaa ajettava sekä kaupungissa että maantiellä

– Lähtöhinta alle 20 000€

Miinukset:

– Rajattu näkyvyys taaksepäin johtuen matalasta takalasin linjasta

– Ratin tartuntakohdan muotoilu

ENGLISH

Hi.

Our row of 5 auto tests finalized in Seat Toledo. As we went down to get this Seat, the sky was clear and not snowing like it had so many times before. Toledo is made in Czech Republic in the very same factory as the Skoda Rapid. Toledo and Rapid look quite like each other and with a quick look the only differences I could find were the front mask and the rear lights. Not much, don’t you agree?

Side_small

The lines of the Seat Toledo are quite rounded. Only the front end is more simple, just like Seats use to have. The angle of the rear glass is very gradual. This makes the rear end look quite nice but it also brings a problem. When you are trying to back up and look in to the rear view mirror, the visibility through the rear window is very limited because the opening is so narrow. So I ended up reversing using only the side mirrors.

Front_small

The front end looks just like a traditional Seat but someone might also see some resemblance to the VW Polo. It includes everything necessary but nothing extra special.

DCIM100GOPRO

The design of the back end is nice. Wide back lights fit in the design very well. Exhaust pipe is hidden under the car (the black thing shown on the picture is not it) and it blows the fumes down to the ground.

The hatch is opened with the Seat logo (S-sign) like usually, excluding Mii.

LikeAnAudi_small

I just had to include the picture above in this article just for asking you what car does it resembles in this? If I didn’t know better, I could say that there is an Audi A4 in this picture. Don’t you agree?

Engine_small

The engine in this Seat Toledo was Volkswagens 1.2 liter TSI engine that produces 105 horsepower. You can really feel the improvement in acceleration after the turbo comes in and then it’s pretty swift. There is a 6-speed manual gearbox where the gears five and six and mainly for fuel saving purposes. When I was driving along the motorway at 55-60 mph there was no point of trying to overtake anyone with gears 5 or six. At least if you want to do it fast. When you go down to fourth gear, then the acceleration is fast enough.

The average fuel consumption in this petrol engine is about 5.1 liter according to the manufacturer.  I think that’s quite nice level for a car this size. The CO2 level in this 1.2 liter and 105 hp model was 118 g which is very good.

What made me get surprised was the sounds. One would think that the 1.2 liter engine produces sounds like the small engines use to do. I don’t know if it has been changed in the exhaust system or in some other way but the engine sounds you hear inside are more like a growl. Can’t complain though, I quite like the way they are.

Trunk_small

When you look at the car as a whole and think how big the trunk is, you won’t believe how big it really is. The trunk space in this Seat Toledo is 550 liters. That’s the same level as in Ford Mondeo STW! In addition, the rear seats turn and you’ll get even more space. And if you lift the trunk floor, more space for your things is revealed.

DayLights_small

Day lights on.

NightLights_small

Main lights on.

Wheels_small

You’ll get 16″ wheels with the Style package.

Ohjaamo_small

The dashboard is pretty simple even though it has all the necessary items included. There are no big screens, just a small simple one on the center of the meters. Gears feel like they always feel on Seats. Gearshift moves smoothly from one gear to another except when the engine is still cold. Then you can’t change so fast but have to ease up a little so that the gears go in place.

The steering wheel has buttons on both sides but the amount is good. The form of the steering wheel on the place where you place your hands were not round. It had some edges and it was a bit too thick so if you have smaller hands, you would have hard time finding a good grip. I can’t be sure though so if anyone has better experience with Toledo and has small hands, I’d like to hear your opinion.

The front seats warmed up fast but the engine didn’t warm up until several miles when driving in a city.

There is no light automation on Toledo so you need to turn the main lights on from a switch. The lights on the meters also light up after that.

The back of the front seats was slightly cup like. Your back goes in to the cup and is supported well. On the contrary there was no support what so ever on the seating. The space for the legs was very good.

RearSeats_small

One thing I was especially amazed about was the legroom in the back. It’s so much bigger than in many many other models. If you compare this to an Audi A4, Toledo has at least double the size. Entering the car to the back seats has also been made easy.

Pros:

–  The space in this is really good. Both for the passengers and luggage.

– Gives a powerfull feel

– Steady car to drive, both in a city and highway.

– The starting price in Finland less than 20 000€ (I know, we have horrible price tags in Finland)

Cons:

– Limited rear visibility due to the rear window.

– The form of the steering wheel.

– The rear hatch doesn’t close completely when you push it nicely down. The screen on the meters show that it’s still open and you need to push it a bit harder down.

This time we did a video with more narration. This is in Finnish though but even if don’t understand what I say in it, I think it’s worth seeing. I’d really like to hear what kind of videos you’d like to see. Are you just looking to see the car or would you like me to tell you about the car?
