Peliteemalla jatketaan taas. Ihan aluksi tahdon tehdä selväksi, että jos haluatte perusteellista peliarvostelua niin sellaisia löytyy monen lehden ja muun peleihin keskittyvien nettisivuilta ja lehdistä. Tämä on kuitenkin vain pikamulkaus tästä uusimmasta laajennusosasta.
Mists of Pandaria on World of Warcraftin neljäs laajennusosa ja sen on tehnyt Blizzard. Edellinen eli Cataclysm pisti koko alkuperäisen pelin uusiksi lisäten myös uusia paikkoja. Tuo edellinen osa oli minusta aika huono ja toivoin kovasti tästä parempaa. Sikäli sillä ei kyllä ole enää samanlaista merkitystä kuin joskus aiemmin, koska nykyään ei ole aikaa eikä mahdollisuuksia pelata mitään peliä kovin pitkiä aikoja.
Mutta millainen on tämä uusi laajennus. No ainakin saamme siinä uuden alueen Pandarian ja kyllä, kuten nimestä hieman voisi aavistaa, siellä asuu Pandoja. Pandat ovat rauhassa asuvia ja eristäytyneitä kunnes tapahtumat heittävät Alliancen ja Horden sinne. Alliance ja Horde ovat aloittaneet jälleen keskenään nahistelun, joten paljon pelissä on sitä.
Pelaan itse Alliancen puolella, joten mulkaus on tehty siltä puolelta pelkästään. Mulkaisussa hahmoina on level 85 Human Warrior sekä uusi Pandaren Monk.
Otetaanpa ensin tuo Pandamunkki käsittelyyn. Onhan se kieltämättä kiva ajatus Kung-fu munkeista, jotka on pandoja, mutta toisaalta voisi ajatella sen menevän jo liian pitkälle. Ollaan silti objektiivisia ja tehdään yksi munkki maisteltavaksi. Oma munkkini on aika hyvinsyönyt mutta ketterästi se silti tuntuu liikkuvan ja hyppivän. Alkutehtävät ovat tuttuun wow tapaan pikkuasioita ja joidenkin pikkuhättiäisten listimisiä. Kovin pitkälle en munkkia ehtinyt pelaamaan.
Grafiikat ovat mielestäni taas hieman päivittyneet paremmiksi mutta siitä ei toisaalta voi koskaan olla täysin varma jos tietokoneen sisukset ovat päivittyneet. Yhdestä toisesta päivityksestä olen kyllä suunnattoman iloinen. Nimittäin siitä, että ääninäyttelyitä on nyt enemmän. Onko se sitten ainoastaan tässä alussa vai koko seikkalun ajan, se jää nähtäväksi.
Se Pandoista, kurkataanpas sitten sitä entisessä kattolevelissä olevaa Warrioria.
Tasolla 85 olevat hahmot suuntaavat omasta kotikaupungistaan kohti Pandariaa, suurta tuntemattomuutta josta ei tiedetä kuin siellä oleva suuri kriisi ja sota. Horde ja Alliance yrittävät parhaansa mukaan liittoutua alkuasukkaiden kanssa ja siten vetävät myös ne mukaan omaan kahakkaansa. Alliancen alkupaikka on Jade Forest nimisessä paikassa, joka kieltämättä hieman japanilaiseen tyyliin on kaunista katseltavaa. Suurin osa on metsää joka taas miellyttää suomalaista.
Suurin osa näistä alkutehtävistä liittyy alkuperäisten asukkaiden luottamuksen saantiin tekemällä palveluksia. Tehtävät ovat silti sopivan erilaisia aikaisemmin tavatuista, joten ne jaksavat kiinnostaa.
Tällä pikaisella mulkauksella voin todeta, että mielestäni tällä on hyvät mahdollisuudet olla parempi lisäosa kuin edellinen Cataclysm. Pidän tästä näin alussa hyvin paljon, ja pikku hiljaa yritän pelailla sitä eteenpäin. Ylimmälle tasolle 90 tuskin pääsen vähään aikaan ja niistä asioista kannattaakin sitten lukea muualta. Raidit ja heroic dungeonit jäävät minulta nyt kokematta.
Jos olet Wowia joskus pelannut ja petyit edelliseen lisäosaan, voit tästä saada uuden innostuksen. Varoitan silti, wowi on peli johon saattaa jopa jäädä koukkuun.

We continue with the game theme. I’d like to make this clear at first, if you want a thorough review of this expansion, look elsewhere since this is just a quick glance.
Mists of Pandaria is the fourth expansion on World of Warcraft and made by Blizzard. Previous one, Cataclysm, changed the whole old world as well and added some new areas. I didn’t like that expansion much and I was hoping that this would be better. Not that it would matter as much now that it did some years ago, since now there’s much else to do than play any game for a long.
But what is this new expansion like? Well, at least we get a new area called Pandaria and yes, as you can guess from the name, Pandas live there. Pandas are peaceful, isolated creatures before the happenings in the world throws both Alliace and Horde there. Alliance and Horde have started fighting with each other again so that is a big part of the game.
I play Alliance myself so this glance has been made accordingly. In the review I have a level 85 Human Warrior and a brand new Pandaren monk.
Let’s take the Panda-monk first. It feels like a nice idea that there is Pandalooking kung-fu monks but on the other hand it could also be that they’ve taken it too far. Lets be objective though and make one monk to glance. My monk has been on every meal as you can see but it still moves and jumps swiftly. The quests at the beginning are (as always) little errands and killing some little creatures. I had not much time for the monk since we need to move on with the glance.
I think the graphics have been updated a little for the better but you can never really be certain if you have also upgraded some hardware on your computer. I’m so glad on another update though, there’s much more voice acting now. Is it only in the beginning or through the expansion, time will tell.
That’s it for the Pandas, let’s take a look at the Warrior at the previous top level.
The characters at the level 85 are heading towards Pandaria, the great unknown, from their hometown. Nothing much else is known from Pandaria than that there is a crisis in hand and a war. Horde and Alliance are trying their best to make an alliance with the original inhabitants and draw them to their war as well. The starting area for the Alliance is Jade Forest, which looks a bit Japanese and is beautiful to look at. Most of the area is forest which pleases the eye of a Finn.
Most of these starting quests are about gaining the trust of the original inhabitants by doing favors and errands for them. Quests are different enough from the previous ones to keep them interesting.
With this quick glance I can say that this has a pretty good chance of being a better expansion that what Cataclysm was. So far, I like this one a lot and if only I have a chance, I’ll try to play it further a little by little. It will take time for me to reach the new max level 90 and if you want to know what happens then, I recommend reading some gaming magazines and their internet sites. Raids and Heroic dungeons are something I will have to skip.
If you have previously played Wow and was disappointed in the previous expansion, it may be that you’ll get a new inspiration out of this one. A bit of a warning though, Wow is a game that you’ll easily get hooked in to.
