Pyle PDWM96 – Wireless microphone

Tällä kertaa meillä on mulkaistavana yksi Amerikan tilauksista eli Pyle PDWM96 merkkinen langaton mikrofoni. Pyle on amerikkalainen audiolaitteiden valmistaja ja se on ollut maisemissa jo 1960-luvulta asti. Ei siis mikään pop-up yritys. Katsoimme langattoman mikrofonin tarpeelliseksi videoitamme varten ja kuinka ollakkaan löysimme Pylen mikrofonin Amazonista.
Laite, jonka ostimme oli tämä:
Hintaa laitteella oli Amazonissa $15.23, joten kyseessä ei ollut kallis investointi. Pakkasimmekin sen ostoskoriin muiden tuotteiden kanssa. Pakkaus oli noin kirjan kokoinen eikä painoa ollut juuri ollenkaan.
Sisältä löytyi mikrofoni-johto, lähetinyksikkö ja vastaanotinyksikkö. Sekä lähettimeen että vastaanottimeen oli myös patteri mukana mikä oli erittäin hyvä.

Paketissa siis vaikutti ensin olevan kaikki tarpeellinen. Yksi puute kuitenkin löytyi siinä vaiheessa, kun mikrofonia yritti laittaa johonkin laitteeseen kiinni. Siinä oleva plugi on nimittäin sellainen isokokoinen, jota käytetään lähinnä studio ja ammattilaisvalineissä. Jouduimme siis käymään lähimarketissa hakemassa sovittimen 3.5mm plugiksi
Tämän avulla päästiinkin sitten testaamaan laitetta. Pylen sivuilla lukee, että kantavuus olisi 60 jalkaa (noin 18 metriä). Tämä ei ole kovinkaan paljon mutta riittää meidän tarkoituksiin. Tai toivotaan ainakin niin.
Ensimmäinen testi suoritettiin niin, että kiinnitin vastaanottimen Iphonen kuuloke/mikrofoni liitäntään ja käynnistin sanelimen. Kävelin toiseen huoneeseen ja yritin sanella jotain. Ei toiminut, Iphone otti äänet oman mikrofonin kautta.
Toisessa testissä yhdistin vastaanottimen tietokoneeseen ja aloin äänittämään Windowsin Sound Recorderilla. Tämä toimi oikein hyvin kävellessä ja toisesta huoneesta. Kun kuuntelin testisanelun, oli ääni sen kaltainen kun vastaanotin olisi ollut siinä lähettävässä päässä eli välimatka ei kuulunut äänessä mitenkään. Äänen laatu on hieman ehkä tumman sävyinen ja äänenvoimakkuutta saa olla reilusti.
Plussat:
+ Edullinen
+ Tekee mitä lupaakin eli voi langattomasti siirtää ääntä.
+ mikrofoni on helppo kiinnittää vaatteisiin mukana olevalla klipsillä ja lähetinyksikkössä on vyöklipsi.
Miinukset:
– Edullisuus kuuluu äänessä. Ei vastaa esimerkiksi tietokoneen headsettien tasoa.
– 3.5mm sovitinta ei tullut paketissa.

This time we took a quick glance on a wireless microphone system called Pyle PDWM96. Pyle is an American production firm for audio equipment and it has been around since 1960’s. Not a pop-up firm then. We thought that we could use a wireless microphone for our videos and then we found Pyle’s system from Amazon.
This is what we got:
The prize for this PDWM96 microphone was $15.23 so it was relatively cheap. So we put it into our shopping cart along with the others. The package was about the size of a hardcover book and it didn’t weight much.
We found a microphone cord, transmitter unit ja receiver unit inside the box. There was a battery for both the transmitter and the receiver which was very positive.

So at first it seemed like there was everything necessary in the package. Nope, there was one thing missing. When we tried to attach the receiver unit somewhere, we noticed that it had only a thick head like in professional equipment. All the devices (Computer, Canon EOS etc) needed a 3.5mm head. So off we went to the local supermarket and bought an adapter.
Now we were able to test this device. It says on the Pyle internet site that the operation range is up to 60 ft. This is not very long distance but I believe it ’s enough for our use. At least I hope so.
The first test was done so that we attached the receiver unit in to my Iphone and then I opened the voice recorder. I walked to another room and spoke up something. It did not work. Iphone was still using the mic of it’s own.
In Test 2 I plugged the receiver in my computer and started recording using the Windows Sound Recorder. This worked when walking and from another room. When I listened what I had recorded, it sounded like the receiver was next to me and not in another room. So the distance didn’t matter. The quality of the sound was a bit dark and I used almost max volume.
Pros:
+ Reasonably prized
+ Does what it’s meant to do and that is to transfer the voice wireless
+ The mic is easy to clip on clothes and the transmitter has a belt clip.
Cons:
– You can hear the cheap prize on the sound. It can’t match a decent computer headset.
– Package didn’t include a 3.5mm adapter. It wasn’t very hard to get one though because they are sold nearly everywhere.
