Polaris moottorikelkka

Saimme tilaisuuden testata Someron maisemissa Polaris Edge 600 moottorikelkan. Kelkalla oli jo ikää joitakin vuosia, mutta se oli hyvänä pidetty ja laitettu. Kovin suurta kokemusta ei minulla ole vielä moottorikelkalla ajamisesta, joten nämä kerrat pistävät hieman aina jännittämään. Kelkkailu oli kuitenkin tällä kertaakin todella mukavaa ja kaupan päälliseksi saatiin oikeaa vauhdin hurmaa.
Tämä Polaris oli väritykseltään aika vauhdikas; keltaista ja sinistä. Kelkka oli tarkoitettu vain yhdelle henkilölle, joten matkustajaa ei tällä saa ottaa kyytiin.
Kuten ylempänä jo mainitsinkin, ei minulla ole moottorikelkkakokemusta kuin parista aikaisemmasta ajelukerrasta. Alussa siis otettiin hyvinkin rauhallisesti. Veri vetää kuitenkin jo heti tuntuman saatuani lisäämään vauhtia ja sitten mennäänkin ja lujaa. Mikään rämäpää en kuitenkaan ole.
Mielestäni tämä kelkka ohjautui todella helposti jopa tiheähkössä metsässä. Kiihtyminen oli todella nopeaa, mikä taas pitkän tauon jälkeen oli entistä nautinnollisempaa. Ajomatkaa kertyi vain vajaa 19km, mutta pomppuisesta kelkkareitistä ja tottumattomuudesta johtuen se oli varsin hyvä aloitusmatka. Välillä toki piti pysähtyä laavulle paistamaan makkaraa ja juomaan vettä.
Siitä miltä kelkka tuntui ja miten se kulki on hieman vaikea kertoa sanoin, joten kuvasimme ajoa myös videolle.

We got a chance to test a snowmobile called Polaris Edge 600 at Somero, Finland. This was not a new one but kept well and fixed when necessary. I haven’t got a great experience on driving these so it’s always a bit exciting. It was really fun this time too and the amazing speed on snow made you really enjoy the day.
This Polaris had nice coloring with blue and yellow. It was like a racer. This Polaris is meant just for one person so no passengers allowed.
Like I mentioned earlier, I do not have much experience on these things. I’ve only driven a snowmobile 2 times before. So I had to take a little easier at first. As soon as you get the feel of the machine, there’s nothing keeping you for going faster and faster. Except perhaps your common sense.
The steering on this Polaris snowmobile was light and it was easy to maneuver even in forest. Acceleration was fast which after this pause was even more exciting. We drove these things about 19 km but since it was a bumpy route and the lack of experience made sure the distance was quite enough for me. In the middle was a little break where we could drink some water and warm some sausages on fire.
